Lum Invader cosplay is done and done again :)
Happy Halloween/Samhain!! :) I wasn’t able to finish my Zorro costume in time (moneyz…), but here’s my Stormer costume! If you don’t know, it’s from Jem & the Holograms i.e. totally awesome 80s cartoon. I didn’t have any fishnet tights sadly so that’s missing but hey, I can live with it, and Stormer will go on!
Another set of costumes with pictures of the original :)
1. Jane Lane from Daria
2. Miwako Sakurada from Paradise Kiss
I was thinking the other day about the finished costumes that I have pictures of (I have others, but have yet to wear them/take pics in them). So I thought I’d put up a few here, showing the original character and then my version :)
1. Nana Osaki
2. Mamimi Samejima from FLCL (I wanted to take a picture with the camera, but my friend was using said camera to take the picture hah)
3. Shampoo from Ranma 1/2. No staff but that was the most fun one so far :)
4. Sailor Saturn from Sailor Moon. This was my Halloween costume last year. It didn’t turn out as good as I had wanted (and I was too tired to straighten my hair), but it was a decent first try and I can always try again =]
bueno, POR FIN, recibi la enagua por este pinche disfraz! y ahora, como ya sé como lo afecta, solo me falta estrechar el canesú y hacer la basta del encaje y eso es todo! :D wuujuuu
Well, I’m going to my first anime con this September :) here in Phoenix, it’s Saboten Con! yippee! now i have to consider my cosplay lineup:
- Lum, of course. this is a one-time wear kind of thing.
- Cheetara, though i’ve managed to wonderfully butcher the top and so have to start it over completely (though i will do a much better job this second round).
- Miwako, but this is dependent upon me receiving my petticoat in time.
So in case the last one doesn’t work out, I have to think of plan B. i have to go in costume all 3 days, there’s no way i can spend this much time sewing and NOT go in something i’ve made. but i don’t particularly want to start from scratch on anything. I have Stormer and Thumbelina done, but they’re not anime and I mehh not for this con. I was thinking Ryoko from Samurai Girl because I have all of her accessories and the wig, minus the bokken, which could easily be procured.
and if i have the money, i have been dying to make a lolita dress. i don’t have any lolita shoes tho hmm :/ again, money. maybeeee…
fucking FINALLY finishing my faerie costume. i have been putting this off for….god i don’t even remember. too long! there is some major foofy fluff action going on under that skirt..
my other blog. i didn’t think this fell under cosplay so it went there instead :p
Stormer top is done! Needs a bit of ironing, yes! :D This costume was so easy but I’m lazy so it took me much too long to put it together. The only issue here is the wig. In the picture I’ve twisted it up to see the desired length, because while it is the perfect color and all, it’s far too long. I’ve been trying to curl it with the hot iron, but since it’s so long, the curls are kind of bleh and really loose which is not the intended effect. I’ve never cut a wig, length wise, before so I’m kind of scared but it will be huge and teased anyway so devil take the hindmost!
Akane skirt (from Ranma 1/2 OVA 9: Oh, Cursed Tunnel of Lost Love! Let My Love Be Forever)
Okay, so I’ve been meaning to start on this costume since I bought the fabric a while ago. I’m not going to make the shirt from scratch (I don’t think). I think I may just buy a somewhat large dress shirt and mutate it into what you see here. Hat, I’m not sure about making it myself or finding one similar and customizing. Decisions!
But yes, the skirt in the original picture here looks green, but only in that scene, it actually is yellow. And it is clearly much more flowy than the one I’ve made, but I only had 1 yard of fabric to work with so that’s that. I’m asking myself how I’m going to make the weird little button up dress covering thingy. Make a dress, give it some buttons? >.> so really, it’s more like a long jacket/vest thing?
I’ll figure it out!
